A participatory film in two parts that begins with a group of young children from a local branch of The Children's Society putting on a series of shadow puppetry shows. This is followed by a group of adults with learning difficulties putting on another show that feature rod puppets presumably produced by them from items collected from a beach. In a darkened hall or room primary school aged children put on a series of short shadow puppet productions using puppets and backgrounds they have made themselves. Many of the stories they tell revolve around visiting aliens travelling to the moon or to earth. In the final performance the puppeteers are older, possibly those involved in filming this event. Another performance this time mute and featuring rod puppets. Sitting on the floor behind a sheet of blue cloth representing the sea several adults with learning difficulties in control of their puppets which feature figures on a surfboard and other make from string, sticks and possibly other items collected from a beach.
