A short amateur film taking place at Carlin How School in which winning pupils in a poster competition to design a poster for the Carlin How Carnival 1992 are announced. All the entries are pinned to a board and a press photographer is also in attendance taking pictures for the local press.
In a classroom at Carlin How School a female teacher removes covers from a board to unveil a series of posters for the Carlin How Carnival produced by the pupils. At the top of the board posters marked as 1st, 2nd and 3rd with ‘runners up’ below. All the posters have a circus theme with the winning entry featuring a clown’s face.
The teacher calls out each of the three winning pupils as a second woman standing beside her hands out prizes. Everyone applauds as the children come up. As the prizes continue to be handed out views of all the entries on the board. A photographer walks over to the board with the girl who won 1st prize, she talks with him about her poster.
The girl who came first sits on a chair chews gum while standing next to her the pupils who came second and third. Behind her stands the woman who was handing out prizes. The photographer asks everyone to smile before taking his pictures.
As the photographer prepares to take another photograph featuring the children whose drawing were runners up, other pupils and parents are seen seated around classroom tables watching the proceedings. The film ends on some of the posters again.
