Title: Tatty’s Mistake
In the ruins of a brick building, possibly the site of a former ironstone mine, Tatty and his friend shoot old can on a nearby hillside with an airgun. Three other teenagers appear on the hillside with Tatty and his friend starts shooting at them and laughing. The three take cover behind a wall.
One of the three comes out from behind the wall and kicks one of the cans down the hillside. Tatty and his mate come from behind their wall and begin chasing the three with the airgun. Taking cover behind another wall the three teenagers, two boys and a girl, talk about ways of getting out of this situation and plot to play a trick on Tatty.
The group is chased again around the site changing to the girl now laying on the ground pretending to be shot. Tatty and his friend come across her and believes that they have shot her. The turn and run away hiding out in an old mineshaft.
Tatty’s friend comes out of the mineshaft and climbs the embankment next to them to see if anyone is about. Realising no one is Tatty comes out of the shaft and the two discuss the idea of heading home. The two boys who were with the teenage girl appear and lie to Tatty and his mate telling them they’ve just taken the girl to the hospital and that they are in a lot of trouble. They argue amongst themselves before the two boys leave promising to return later with food.
The boys do return with a large yellow flask and other food items handing them over to Tatty and his friend. The following day Tatty and his mate reappear in the entrance of the mineshaft with cups from the flask in their hands talking about their situation and trying to work out what they should do. The two boys return and again lie to Tatty telling him the girl is in critical condition. As Tatty tries to light a fire the boys tell him he needs to confess.
Once again, the two boys leave and as they walk away, they discuss that they may have gone too far with this prank. As they walk along a track they spot a man in the distance birdwatching with a camera. They turn and race back to Tatty and again lie to him telling him it’s the police and they are going to get him. As Tatty and his mate head back into the mine the two boys run away.
The two boys come along the track again, this time with the girl. Tatty’s mate sees them and as he’s about to confront them turns and runs back towards the mineshaft. The film comes to an end with everyone rushing back and finding Tatty dead in the grass having shot himself.
