In a local community centre or nursing home several older men smile and chat with the cameraperson. They play a game of dominos, sitting in a corner an older woman knitting.
At a local youth club a group of teenagers sits around chatting, some smoking cigarettes, while others play games of pool or table tennis all while listening to music. In the middle of the room a set of weights which some of the boy’s use. Games of checkers and dominos also being played. The room fills with younger children.
Now sitting in a large circle, the group of both children and teenagers play a game of musical chairs. Some in the group get up and address the others. With the chairs moved away they all play another game using all the space of the hall.

In a small room at Brotton Youth Club three young woman and a young man play up for the camera as they listen to the camerawoman instructed them in the user of the equipment. Other young people sit around the room also listening to the woman with some of the smoking cigarettes. As they begin to use the camera their contemporaries play up for the camera often posing. Everyone is having fun.
The camera is carried into the youth club by one of the group who passes other teenagers and children playing pool or sitting around chatting. Outside the cameraman instructs his friend on how to pose beside his motorcycle. Many of those inside now come into the car park and continue to play up to the camera. Heading back inside the camera continues to capture local teenagers chatting and playing games.
The camera is passed to a young woman who again wonders around the youth club chatting with friend capturing them playing up for the camera. Some of her friends race outside while she speaks with the boys in the car park beside their motorbike before heading back inside.

In a living room a mother and three young sons are given instruction on how to use the video equipment. The camera moves around the room capturing various scenes of the family and items around the room.
Local teenagers film scenes from a drama they are producing called ‘Tatty’s Mistake.’ Taking place in the brick ruins of a building in what is believed to be the remains of an old ironstone mine two boys shoot an airgun at three people walking along a nearby embankment.
After taking a break with one in the groups having a cigarette the filming continues with two teenager boys shooting at and chasing after a teenager girl. After drinking tea or coffee from a flask filming continues with four male actors working in and around an old mineshaft that disappears into a hillside. A man out birdwatching with a camera comes along a track, the four boys run away into the mineshaft presumably part of another scene being filmed.
In the final part of the film the group laugh as they apply fake blood around the mouth of one of them. The scene being filmed featured the three remaining boys walking along the track and finding their friend laying in the grass
