This film is from the Cyril Higginson collection and contains scenes from a fundraising week that was held in Keighley, in West Yorkshire, in 1942 in order to raise funds to acquire a ship which has been adopted by Keighley. There are shots of the Mayor, Mayoress and other dignitaries making speeches, military and children's parades, people marking money raised, appeal for national savings certificates, and good footage of people watching newsreels and cartoons on mobile cinema screens....

The Mayor and Mayoress are on a stage with other dignitaries. The Mayor is making a speech, and then there is a shot of the Mayor and Mayoress and other dignitaries posing together in front of a lorry.
In the next scene an army marching band walks down a road towards the camera.

Title-Rear Admiral Fobes Sempill takes the salute.

The Mayor is dressed in full regalia and walks over to two men who are talking to the Admiral. There is a long sequence showing the various types of army and police officers that march past the Admiral and salute him; they include women's Army volunteers marching. There is a shot of the Admiral returning the salute, followed by shots of lorries, tanks and motorcycles driving along the road and navy, army trainees and Scouts marching. The Mayor leads the Admiral onto the stage, where he gives a speech.
Title-The Navy is always on watch.
There are a few shots taken of war ships sailing on the sea in formation. Then it cuts back to the stage where the Admiral is still making a speech and hands trophies to some men.

The army band marches down another street playing their music while army officers march in formation.

The army march and play music and are followed by a huge crowd of boys and girls who are accompanied by their teachers; they all look at the camera as the pass by.

He stands on the stage with some other people and makes a speech; a young girl stands beside him with a cut out of a war ship.

The girl makes a speech and puts the cut out onto the indicator board. There is a shot of the huge crowd gathered around, taken from the stage.

A small film screen has been set up at the side of a road and adults and children sit and watch a Donald Duck cartoon. There is a lorry with `The Navy's Here! Warship Week' written on the side. A crowd of men, women and children watch a film about war plane and war ships in the little cinema on the street.
