Title: PRO-CELEBRITY DARTS
Title: Fred Dineage
Fred welcomes the viewers to the Ladbroke Dragonara Hotel where the darts tournaments are held. In the third quarter final of the professional singles competition, Stefan Lord the Swedish professional is competing against the American player Nicky Virachkul. Cliff Lazarenko the English player and Wales’ Leighton Rees are already through to the semi finals.
Fred introduces the commentator Dave Lanning who will be accompanied by Cliff Lazarenko to guide viewers through the match. They are playing 501 from which the players subtract their scores. The first to zero wins but they must finish on a double score, which is the outer ring on the dartboard.
Stefan Lord is throwing his darts for the first game followed by Nicky Virachkul. From the commentary box Cliff Lazarenko favours Nicky to win this first leg, which he does. Nicky starts the next leg. Nicky wins the leg and the game. The referee announces the start of the second set and Nicky starts the first leg, he wins in spectacular fashion with a bulls-eye. Stefan Lord starts the second leg of the second set but Nicky Virachkul wins the match.
The programme goes back to studio as he sums up Nicky Virachkul’s form as devastating, which has put Stefan Lord out of the tournament. Fred then goes on to talk about the pro-celebrity competition which will be shown in part two of the programme, when Cliff Lazarenko’s playing partner will be rugby player Phil Bennett and Nicky Virachkul will partner with Charlie Williams in the semi finals.
Title: End of Part One
A clock counts down to the start of part two.
Title: Part Two
Next to the scoreboard Fred introduces the teams, Nicky Virachkul and Charlie Williams, and Cliff Lazarenko and Phil Bennett. The audience applauds. Nicky is asked by Fred how his partner performed, in the broadest sense of the word, in the first round. He replies he was a mixture of horrific and terrific!. Being one match away from a final reminds Charlie of something similar when he was a footballer. But he thinks he chances are even in this semi final especially if he manages to upset the other team Cliff Lazarenko.and Phil Bennett with his constant banter and humour. Charlie then manages to tell a joke for the audience. Fred turns to Cliff Lazarenko to talk about Charlie’s unorthodox tactics. A little lost for words, Cliff thinks that they still have a good chance of winning. Phil is looking forward to the game and a place in the final.
Fred announces Tony Green as referee and Dave Lanning as commentator as he gets the match underway.
The team members throw a few practice darts. The referee Tony Green calls for order and the game begins as Cliff Lazarenko throws the first darts, with an interruption from Charlie Williams. Nicky Virachkul is next, followed by Phil Bennett and Charlie Williams. Unceasing banter from Charlie Williams amuses the audience and interrupts the concentration of all the players, but it’s all taken in good spirits. Nicky Virachkul wins the first leg for his team. For the second leg Nicky throws first. Cliff Lazarenko plays the winning shot for his team. Which makes the score one leg each.
The programme returns to Fred Dineage in the studio, where he brings the coverage of this semi-final match to an end. The conclusion of the match will be shown in the following programme.
The end credits start over clips from the latest game.
