Title: The Visual Quiz
Presenter Lesley McGilp walks into the studio and introduces ‘The Visual Quiz’ show before welcoming the six contestants: Louise Fitzgerald, Emma Lovell, Diane Lawes, Jamie Evans, Martin Wright and Steven Richardson. Each of the contestants are asked where they are from and what are their hobbies.
Standing beside a board with twelve numbers on it, Lesley provides details of the first game in which contestants are asked to pick a number and identify the deaf person from around Britain that features on the other side.
Following a look at the score, Lesley introduced the second game in which the contestants have to identify five people from either film or television that are being impersonated by actor Jerry Hanifin. With the round coming to an end Lesley thanks Jerry for his performances.
Another look at the scoreboard takes the show into its third round in which contestants are asked to identify the individual standing in a window where only their hands and body are visible. Each of the three special guests appear in the window signing to the contestants. With the round over the three guests come out from behind the screen to speak with Lesley. They are Gloria Pullen, Keith Reed and Murray Holmes the Vice-Chairman of the British Deaf Association (BDA).
Following another look at the scoreboard Lesley introduces the fourth round in which the contestants are asked to identify and write down the name of six deaf television programme that appear on a monitor in front of them. With the round over Lesley collections in their answers. She then identifies the six programmes featured [See Hear, Hand in Hand, A Language for Ben, Breakthrough, Listening Eye and a clip from a London Deaf Video Project production] before going over to the scoreboard.
Returning again to Lesley she provides details on the sixth and final round which is a quick-fire questions and answers round. All the questions are based around the deaf community. With the round ending a final look at the scoreboard reveals Emma Lovell as the winner. She comes forward to collect her prize from Keith Reed and Murray Holmes. The other contestants join Emma beside the scoreboard and receive their consolation prizes. Following final words from Murray Holmes inviting them all to the BDA headquarters in Carlisle, the programme comes to an end with everyone waving at the camera.
