From inside the newly constructed Martin Luther Church on Clarence Street in the Shieldfield area of Newcastle, Marion Foster speaks with its Minister about the design of the church as well as the support the congregation has received from the Jesmond Council of Churches. As the two talk a montage of views around the church including its stained-glass window. Workmen also install a large cross onto the wall of the church beside the altar. Marion asks questions about possible issues between locals and the German congregation because of two world wars, the Minister believes people can distinguish between a German and a Nazi.
