The second of seven camera rolls produced by Trade Films containing the second part of an interview with Alan Cummings and Micky Hunt from Easington Colliery in County Durham. The tape was recorded on the 7th March 1985, only a couple of days after the miners returned to work following the end the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike.
The interview with Alan Cummings and Micky Hunt of Easington continues with them discussing the future of the Durham coalfield and the potential privatisation of the British coal industry. They talk about how they would like to see the coal industry develop and about how the strike was conducted in Easington with the gains made during the strike, the support received from the women and their views on the leadership of Arthur Scargill, President of the National Union of Coalminers (NUM) during the strike. They go onto talk about the meaning of victory and their opinions of the colliery review procedure agreed between the National Coal Board and the National Association of Colliery Overmen, Deputies and Shotfirers (NACODS).
