This short documentary shows the movements of the remains of a Tynemouth lifeboat called the Henry Frederick Swan. The film shows the boat being lifted by crane and transported on the back of a low loader to the premises of the North East Maritime Trust in South Shields, where restoration would be carried out to repair the hull.

A group of people are shown standing next to a lifeboat [the Henry Frederick Swan], which is sat in a yard. A large low loader carrying a crane is shown next to the boat also.
Some of the people by the boat are shown inspecting the exterior. Another volunteer is shown pulling straps around different parts of the boat.
The large straps are now shown wrapped around the boat, ready for the boat to be lifted. The driver of the [Reeds] crane is shown looking around. The boat is shown being hoisted by the straps and moved around in the air by the crane.
One volunteer is shown holding a rope to steer the boat in the right direction. Another truck is shown backing up nearby.

The boat is now shown strapped to the back of the second low loader, which drives away.

One of the volunteers directs the movement of the boat from the ground, as the crane driver controls the jib. The volunteers use their hands and also a rope to steer the boat in the right direction, which is now hoisted in the air again.

The boat is shown being lowered towards the metal frame as the volunteers continue to steer it. The boat is lowered fully to the ground and moved into the workshop.
