A country show taking place in fields near to the North Yorkshire village of Fylingthorpe recorded by farmers wife Bernice Ward in 1963 feature horses, cattle and other farm animals being displayed or moved around the site. Children on horseback feature as well as a shepherd taking part in a sheepdog trial and a display of hunting hounds. In the second part of the film a visit the nearby town of Whitby busy with holidaymakers and fishing boats coming and going along the River Esk.

Children on horseback feature as well as a shepherd taking part in a sheepdog trial and a display of hunting hounds. In the second part of the film a visit the nearby town of Whitby busy with holidaymakers and fishing boats coming and going along the River Esk.
Two men lead a dairy cow through a field, as they pass several caravans, they are joined by three others. They attempt to manhandle the cow which resists causing one of the men to fall over.
An older man washing down the legs of a dray horse that is tied to a wooden fence, waiting nearby three other horses. Several dray horses are led across a field changing to show several show jumps and a horse in the distance approaching. Tents and caravans are parked around the site while nearby a row of parked cars with visitors and those on horseback riding past including a several children being led around the site. Beside the wooden fence seen previously a small child and her mother pet two baby goats or kids, two older goats eat grass nearby. A series horses and ponies either being ridden or led across a piece of open ground.
Riders on horseback ride around a showground at speed changing to a display of cattle being slowly walked around another smaller showground nearby. As part of a sheepdog trial a shepherd and his dog herd three sheep changes to children on horseback being led past. On the showground a group of adults watches as the children lead their horses around themselves by hand. A crowd watches a display of hunting hounds being paraded around the show field by two hunt masters on horseback both wearing distinct red jackets. A cow followed by two dray horses are displayed on the showground followed by a parade of various dogs and their owners.
Whitby harbour with many boats on the water changes to a quayside where fisherman onboard their trawler haul in and store their fishing nets. From the swing bridge the RNLI Lifeboat Station and crowds walking along St Ann’s Staith. Collier and Sons Hardware Store changes to Whitby at dusk with a chain of lights lighting up St Ann’s Staith. Several fishing boats or trawlers are moored together while on the River Esk other boats come and go.
