Believed put on by the Federation of Women’s Institute, to whom the filmmaker was a member, a large crowd watches various groups of women perform a series of traditional folk-dance routines.
Women in white overalls stand behind tables set up around Arthington Hall, guest arrive making their way towards the rear garden. Tables have been set up around the well-maintained gardens and at the far end a group of seated people. Two women walk around the garden while gets sit at tables eating a meal.
Out on a large lawned area displays of folk dancing performed by various groups of women dressed in colourful dresses and skirts. Around the edges of the performance area a large crowd watches on. The performances are intercut with a group of small children playing on a nearby hillock and of the colour flowerbeds. A man sits at table in front of one group of performers, another group perform a long sword dance. The film ends on a group performing a routine featuring small white flags.
