In a laboratory a South Asian man looks through a microscope changes to a piece of oncology equipment in operation nearby. Around the laboratory other members of the research team look over images of cancerous cells in various microscopes or work on effective treatments. In a sports hall a group of volunteers listens to an instructor as he goes through details on a basic parachuting course. Laying on the floor he shows the group a series of moves and positions the students will have to learn before their first parachute jump. With the assistance of a female volunteer the instructor shows the students how a packed parachute is strapped to the body, around the hall the student practice themselves. Outside a parachute is unfurled by the instructor who explains its mechanics to the watching students. He then goes onto provide instruction in how to turn a parachute. A sign for Sturgate Airport changes to volunteers and parachutes outside the hanger of the Lincoln Parachute Centre. A chalkboard listing all the sponsored parachutists including Janet Vickers who stands nearby getting changed into her jumping gear. A colleague or friends helps her, around them others getting into their jumpsuits and putting on sturdy shoes. She puts on her parachute clipping the straps, so they fit perfectly. On the ground nearby other parachutes waiting on their users changes to Janet now putting on her safety helmet which includes a microphone and earpiece. Again, someone helps make sure it is fitted properly. Janet and four other parachutes climb into a Cessna 207 airplane (C-PARA) that is parked on the runway. It taxis along the runway before taking off into the sky. From inside the aircraft views of the ground below and Janet speaking with one of her fellow parachutes all of whom look apprehensive as the time of their jump’s approaches. The first parachute comes and sits in the doorway of the aircraft before jumping, his parachute opens, and he slowly descends to the ground. On the ground a man looks up through binoculars following the parachutes as he lands in a field. Back onboard the airplane a female parachutist comes to sit in the doorway before jumping. A small crowd watches, some with binoculars, as she descends and comes into land. People come over as she begins to collect in her parachute. Back in the airplane a second man jumps and comes into land safely. Next, its Janet’s turn as she comes to sit with her legs outside the aircraft. She leaps, her parachute opens and she descends slowly to the ground watched by those on the ground. She lands hard, but recovers enough to get up and collect in her chute. An ‘X’ mark on the ground changes to the fifth and final parachutist now coming into land before collecting in his chute. As the aircraft taxis back along the runway it passes the parachutists, including Janet, walk back towards the Lincoln Parachute Centre carrying their chutes passing some of the watching crowd who are applauding. An instructor signs a certificate for Janet proving she has done the jump; they shake hands with Janet kissing his cheek. Now out of their jumpsuits the five parachutists sit on the ground relaxing, they are interviewed about both their experiences and if they would do it again. Back at the Robert Lowry Turner / Margo Moore Clinical Oncology Unit at Bradford University three small children shake hands with one of the research scientists as they offer him a large Bells Whiskey jar full of money they have collected. A woman writes a cheque and offers it as well, standing nearby the other members of the research team. Outside the Robert Lowry Turner / Margo Moore Clinical Oncology Unit Arnold Moore, Executive Chair of Bradford’s War on Cancer, talks about the formation of both the organisations and the research centre at Bradford University. He goes onto talk about the pioneering work of Professor Turner and his late colleague George White-Watson in developing Chemotherapy drugs. He finishes by thanking those who have supported Bradford’s War on Cancer by raised money to support the centre and the work done there.
