Summary An amateur travelogue produced by Ken Leckenby of a holiday to northern Northumberland and eastern Scotland. On his journey he passes through the village of Seahouses before heading north toward Bamburgh Castle and the island of Lindisfarne. Crossing the border into Scotland he looks out on Bass Rock from North Berwick heading north to Aberdeen via the Forth Road Bridge before travelling inland to Ballater, Pitlochry and Ramach Loch ending his journey at Gleneagles Hotel. |

An amateur travelogue produced by Ken Leckenby of a holiday to northern Northumberland and eastern Scotland. On his journey he passes through the village of Seahouses before heading north toward Bamburgh Castle and the island of Lindisfarne. Crossing the border into Scotland he looks out on Bass Rock from North Berwick heading north to Aberdeen via the Forth Road Bridge before travelling inland to Ballater, Pitlochry and Ramach Loch ending his journey at Gleneagles Hotel.

Waves crash over a coastal breakwater with gulls feeding in the surf nearby changes to visitors walking around the village of Seahouses in Northumberland. At the harbour fishing boats moored beside, behind the lime kilns with the Bamburgh Castle Hotel in the background. Cars drive down a winding road towards the harbour passing an ice cream kiosk, in the distance the island of Inner Farne with its lighthouse. From a rocky shoreline Bamburgh Castle in the distance changes to the village of Bamburgh and a car making its way towards the castle.
From the mainland at low tide the village of Lindisfarne in the distance on Holy Island changes to a road sign warning drivers about the dangers of crossing the Holy Island Causeway. Nearby a couple reading an information board as cars drive passed away from the island. On the island itself the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory with Lindisfarne Castle in the distance built atop the volcanic mound known as Beblowe Craig.
On a beach at North Berwick a family plays on the sand, in the near distance the bird sanctuary of Bass Rock. Visitors wonder along the main street in North Berwick leading down to the harbour where boats sit in the sand at low tide. From the harbour through the haze Bass Rock again with gulls flying overhead. On the northern side of the island the Bass Rock Lighthouse.
In the village of East Linton the watermill at Preston Mill changes to views of the Forth Bridge crossing the Firth of Forth. From a viewing platform overlooking the Forth Road Bridge a family look over an information board while in the background traffic move back-and-forth across the bridge itself. Traffic having crossed the road bridge pass through toll booths before continuing on with their journey.
Fishing trawlers moored in the harbour at Peterhead, nearby a North Sea oil rig and service vessels are moored beside along a jetty. Various coloured Roses flower from bushes growing along the central reservation of the Anderson Drive ring road at Aberdeen.
In the village of Ballater the Glenmuick Church on Church Square and a woman walking past the ‘Leith Bakery’ on the corner of Church Square and Golf Road. Above the door a Royal seal of patronage. Visitors wonder around Crathie Kirk in the village of Crathie changes to the River Dee flowing through the Balmoral Estate. Visitors again wonder past a cottage on edge of the estate, in the distance through the tree Balmoral Castle itself.
The River Dee continues to flow down stream passing under a stone bridge changing to the south slopes of the Cairngorms near the Spittal of Glenshee with a car driving through the landscape. A woman looks over a cannon in the grounds outside Blair Castle. In the surrounding parkland a red deer feeding on the grass. In Pitlochry a woman stands outside the entrance of ‘Pitlochry Knitwear Company’ followed by views of the village itself and the Pitlochry Hydro Electric power station where families watch as waters of the River Tummel flows past heading downstream.
Three visitors stand on a platform at Queens View looking out on Ramach Loch below. General views around the loch changes to a roadside paddock where Highland cattle graze. At a nearby deer park a herd of red deer also grazing, many of the male deer having antlers.
On the outskirts of the village of Aberfeldy a woman sits in a bench beside the Black Watch Memorial, nearby the distinct Wade’s Bridge crossing the River Tay. On the southern end of Loch Tay the River Dochart passes over falls as it heads through the village of Killin changing to Gleneagles Hotel and the film ends on golfers enjoying the local golf course.
