An amateur film by Ken Leckenby on a visit to the Knowsley Safari Park near Pescot on Merseyside. As the car drives around the park the film explores the various animals on display at the park including lions, giraffe, antelope, zebra, rhino, camel, elephant, baboon and cheetah.
A male lion with think mane walks through its enclosure at Knowsley Safari Park passing several females laying in the grass, the lion yawns revealing its sharp teeth.

An amateur film by Ken Leckenby on a visit to the Knowsley Safari Park near Pescot on Merseyside. As the car drives around the park the film explores the various animals on display at the park including lions, giraffe, antelope, zebra, rhino, camel, elephant, baboon and cheetah.

A car drives past a kiosk into the safari park changes to a sign on a tree for the Karamoja Giraffe Reserve. Four giraffe inside their enclosure changes to another sign this time asking visitors not to feed or try to touch the animals. The giraffes continue to walk about as a zebra-colour Land Rover driven by one of the parks keepers drives past them. Another sign warning drivers not to get out of their vehicles if they get into trouble but to sound their horn and wait for the ‘Whitehunter’.
Another parked up Ford transit van in distinct zebra colours livery changes to a herd of zebra’s running about followed by them feeding on the grass. A pheasant wonders through the grass changes to an antelope relaxing in the grass chewing on some leaves. Another sign reads ‘Strictly No Admittance for Pedestrians, Cyclists and Motorcyclists’ changes to two large white rhinos relaxing on the grass. Two ostriches feed on the grass near a metal fence and wooded area. As a car drives through the park one of the rhinos gets up and walks in its direction.
In another field Arabia camels with a calf, in the near distance the roof of a house. Another sign for the African Monkey Jungle changes to an Olive of Anubis baboon sitting beside a eating a cabbage, sitting in the shade under trees more baboons also eating cabbages. A car drives past with a baboon sitting on the hood changes to an infant baboon climbing a tree and then playing with its parent.
A sign for the Chambura Hippo Pool changes to a hippopotamus submerged in the pool. Another pheasant walks around while in the pool the hippo splashing about in the water.
A herd of African elephant stand together in their enclosure. The use their trunks to scoop up grass into their mouths. In another enclose a pack or coalition of cheetah, some resting on the grass others walking about.
Cars drive along a road passing a sign welcoming them to ‘Lion Country’. Another sign for the Ishasha Lion Reserve and the large male lion seen at the start of the film now resting on the grass besides two females. A second male lion walks past two others laying on the ground. The film ends on various views of the lions relaxing in their enclosure.
