On camera Madge assists nursing staff with a patient. Off camera she provides a commentary on her experiences working as a volunteer. She says she first worked on reception but now works with physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Overall, she thoroughly enjoys her work. Off camera Brenda Crowther continues her story of when her husband spent time at St Oswald’s. Brenda meets and hugs a member of staff and sits down to talk with her.
Another relative arrives at St Oswald’s.

Carol takes a cup of tea or coffee to Susan Cameron seen earlier as she sits outside. Off camera Susan provides background commentary to her experiences of facilities at St Oswald’s. She says meeting other parents is very supportive.
The film moves to a view of Alan Pockley playing a game of Patience on a computer with help from a member of staff.

Sandra plays with her daughter Becky, seen earlier. Susan Cameron sits next to her. Off camera Sandra talks about how her daughter helps with fund raising. The film the shows volunteer Madge Swearman as she labels some collection boxes and answers a phone.
