Reductions imposed by government financial constraints requires that the council must make the best use of limited resources. He stresses the need of input for the people who live in North Tyneside to work with the council to identify future projects. Brian also refers to the success of the North Tyneside city challenge project.

Janice explains that she works as a cleaner at the pool and she describes how staff meetings pool ideas for improving services, the teamwork aspect of her job is something she really enjoys.

Tony outlines improvements on this high quality service, by allowing the home help staff to work without outmoded restrictions and give them more autonomy. The film shows some home care residents playing cards.

Eleanor is looking forward to the changes and welcomes the responsibility. The film shows Eleanor looking after an elderly resident. She looks forward to more autonomy.
The film goes back to Brian who says there will opportunities for council employees to develop their skills.

Nancy outlines the importance of staff training. In the background a training session is underway. The film shows other training sessions for staff.
Brian asserts that North Tyneside council should be a listening and learning council listening to the people of North Tyneside through their councillors and North Tyneside staff from their managers. Brian promotes the idea of working with change, but always for the better in providing high quality council services.
