| Summary In the second part of this Tyne Tees Television series that look at people who have left the stresses and strains of the rat-race for a quieter existence, Jenny Bell turned her hobby into her living. After establishing herself as a graphic designer, she packed it in to paint china at her home in Witton-le-Wear, County Durham. Her china has become collectable, and she says turning her back on conventional work was the best thing she's ever done. Andrew and Jane Pearce followed the job-share route to a more fulfilled life. Andrew does half a job with Marks and Spencer’s personnel department and shares the care of the three children with Jane, a former nurse. They also run a life-coaching business from their home in Tynemouth. The Oldhams - George, Jan and teenage daughter Jo-Jo - are all artists. They gave up a successful antiques business in The Midlands for an uncertain future deep in the Weardale countryside. There have been no regrets, and are all influenced artistically by their beautiful surroundings. |
