A long queue of traffic at a standstill making their way towards ‘The Picnic at Blackbushe Aerodrome’ at Camberley in Surrey. Phantom car ride passing pedestrians also making their way to the site by foot. They pass three policemen on motorbikes and an RAC sign that reads ‘Dylan Concert Entrance’.
The car parked and crowds making their way towards the stage area. In the distance the stage, around it people sitting or standing. A Stars and Stripes flag on a pole beside a group sitting on the grass.
The Framwellgate Bridge crossing the River Wear at Durham changes to a garden at Billingham where two dogs are playing. Pedestrians walking through Billingham Town Centre.
Back in the garden a couple play with one of the dogs seen previous, an older woman appears and dances briefly for the camera. At Whitby the filmmakers brother David and a friend come down a set of steep steps before wondering around the ruins of Whitby Abbey.
The Moot Hall at Hexham in Northumberland changes to the Hexham Bridge crossing the River Tyne. From a boat on the river buildings and field and two cows watching from the river’s edge.
The village pond at Norton near Billingham and Mill Lane nearby. Phantom car ride to Flamingo Land near Pickering in North Yorkshire. Again, the filmmaker’s brother appears pulling faces at the camera. The Forrest family looking at various caged animals including monkey’s, a lion, and goats. The filmmaker’s mother wearing a joke pair of glasses and false noses attempts to frighten a small boy. The family enjoy a picnic on a large grass field before taking a jungle cruise.
Some of the family come down a helter-skelter changing to a giraffe in the safari park leaning is long neck over a fence. Other animals feature including zebra and elephants, one of which walks back and forth in boredom.
Back in the family garden at Billingham the filmmaker’s brother-in-law dances alongside his mother-in-law. He is holding his daughter in his arms; his wife stands in the doorway of the house watching. The brother-in-law sweeps the garden path, the family dog chasing after the brush. Other family members come into the garden, they all begin to dance and play. A puppy sniffs the filmmakers’ legs before playing in the garden with the other dog.
A holiday by the filmmaker’s parents to the Killycrankie area of Scotland begins with a cruise on a loch. A couple walk along a wooded path, someone gets onto a coach and the exterior of the ‘Royal Highland Hotel’. At a Highlands show a marching pipe band are followed by dancers performing on a stage in the middle of the show field. A river passing over rocks and the filmmaker’s father waving at the camera as he passes along a path.
The camera is placed on a railway track, in the near distance a railway signal. The camera falls over. A sign on the side of a rail side building reads ‘Cowpen Lane’, the filmmaker’s brother stands nearby playing air-guitar. From an upstairs window the two-track railway line and cars passing the building seen previous.
The filmmaker rushes across the tracks to close the tracks to close the crossing gates before rushing back across the track. He picks up a rucksack and walks back across the tracks. The film ends on the filmmaker’s mother working in her garden.
