A promotional film to show various activities and sites to see, which different countries have to offer during a hostelling holiday in Europe. PART 1
A large group of people are shown gathered together outside, many sat on chairs and some are playing musical instruments. Banners above the crowd show the triangle logos for ‘YHA’, ‘AWJ’ and ‘JYH’.
The large crowd watches on as various dance and music performers from different countries perform at an outdoor amphitheatre style venue.
More banners around the amphitheatre containing logos from various international youth hostel organisations are shown.

Hostellers are shown walking over moorland and into woodland. They are shown studying foliage and geology in a brook, and others are shown studying items in the shoreline of the sea. They take their collections back to the study room of the youth hostel.
In the study room, hostellers are shown using conservation materials to clean up items they found in the sea or nearby wilderness. Some of them are using rubbing techniques to document the patterns of the leaves.

PART 2
A group of hostellers are shown cycling through the countryside, past a white windmill and a lake. They continue cycling up a cycle track between an avenue of trees. They cycle through a village and past a sign post which reads ‘Brugge’.
A flock of swans are shown nibbling on the grass, as the cyclists travel over a bridge over the river. They continue cycling through narrow, picturesque streets in Bruges which have flags hanging above.
The cyclists continue their journey through the streets of Bruges. The European cyclists meet a group of Japanese hostellers outside Bruges Youth Hostel. They socialise and spend time looking at the sights around them. They can be seen looking over the bridge into the water. They watch a woman making lace, who is sitting outside; the hostellers are impressed. A horse and cart rides past the group. More of the buildings of Bruges are shown.
Modern high-rise apartments in Brussels are shown.
