The film also features a 40-ton steam breakdown crane lifting mineral wagons near Broughton Road at Skipton station.
The 7029 Clun Castle steams along an embankment crossing a small bridge on the Settle to Carlisle railway line. The A4 4498 Nigel Gresley passes at speed changing to a man walking beside the railway line near to Ais Gill Summit also on the Settle to Carlisle line. The Nigel Gresley approaches at speed passing under a bridge and the Ais Gill Summit signal box where a small crowd of railway enthusiasts have gathered.
A man walks towards the Ribblehead viaduct as a passenger train, believed the Britannia Class 70229 Shooting Star, speeds across the viaduct. Behind it comes the Nigel Gresley again also passing at speed watched by three spectators standing nearby. From a different angle or another day, the Nigel Gresley once again crosses Ribblehead viaduct passing a man taking photographs of the train.
Next to Broughton Road a steam breakdown crane painted bright red is moved into position along a section of railway track. Writing along the chassis of the crane reads ‘Holbeck District’. The crane hook is lowered and attached to a mineral wagon which is winched into the air by a man at the cranes control. Writing along the side of the crane reads ‘Crane DE33159 Holbeck M.P.D’. A second wagon is lifted into the air and lowered onto the railway track.
Along a siding near Skipton station the Britannia Class 70014 Iron Duke slowly reverses to allow it to couple to a brakes van; it steams off towards Skipton. A small boy runs down a cobbled lane towards the tracks as the Iron Duke passes. The film ends on the boy leaning over a bridge down onto the railway below.
