Another LMS Stanier Class Five 44894 reverses pulling a series of goods wagons, the engine wheels spin. Another Class Five reverses past while a third is turned on a turntable watched by three boys. In its correct position it reverses off the turntable. In the cabin of the engine the fireman shovels coal into the firebox.
Three boys climb aboard the Britannia Class 7MT locomotive 70021 Morning Star that is parked in a yard; they look out from the cabin.
A goods yard with wagon, steam locomotives and diesel shunters changes to two steam locomotives inside a shed. Another Britannia Class 7MT 70023 Venus reverses from under a tower and is turned on a turntable, the driver and fireman working together to turn the wheel to make the table move. It moves off but comes to a stop a few yards away so that the driver or fireman can change the points. The points change and the engine reverses back again along a different track.
A British Rail Standard Class 9F locomotive 92004 slowly reverses changes to a Stanier Class Five passing. A brightly coloured steam locomotion sitting on a track, the number 6441 painted on the cabin. The film ends on another Standard Class 9F 92069 slowly reversing past.
