An amateur film produced by Ken Ellwood begins with a steam traction engine rally and fair taking place at Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. The film features various engines both on display and being used to power other machines including a mechanical saw and musical Calliopes. In the second part of the film a wedding with the happy couple coming out of the church, getting into their vintage wedding car and the bride having confetti thrown over her at the reception. A man on stilts walks through a crowd of visitors walking thought a fair. A steam traction engine powers a Calliope with writing across the bonnet reading ‘Dan Shorey Banbury, Oxen’. A woman stands beside it watching over the engine. Men work to attach belts from two steam traction engines (Reg: BD 5414 and AH 5278) to a mechanical saw, a man stands on one of the engines checking the belt is securely attached to the wheel. From onboard the engine in operation with pistons moving back and forth. Another traction engine (Reg: FP 1259), nearby a man atop a threshing machine. Crowds walk through a fair with some enjoying riding a Ferris wheel and carousel all powered by steam. A small crowd gathers around another steam Calliope, next to it a miniature steam traction engine pulling a trailer for ‘Prestons of Potto’. Behind that a vintage car with a banner attached reading ‘Chariots of Fire’. The ‘R. Preston and Sons, Potto’ steam traction engine (Reg: AD 6302) powers the Calliope. On a show field a line of steam traction engines with one of them in the distance moving away. A Burrell General purpose traction engine (Reg: VF 1273) is driven past. A bride and her new husband appear from a church followed behind by the maid-of-honour and best man. Beside a vintage wedding car, the couple pose with a bridesmaid before getting inside, At the wedding reception guests gather outside, a woman throws confetti over the brides head.
