A home movie produced by Ken Ellwood of his youngest son Peter’s graduation from Loughborough University on the 12th July, 1985. Peter arrives with his mother and mingles with other friends and family around Towers Hall. Following the ceremony Peter and Kath speak with one of Peters tutors at the university, Professor Brittain. Following a reception inside Towers Hall Peter stands with three friends ready to depart for London and the Live Aid concert.
Peter and Kath Ellwood come down a slope from a car park making their way towards a crowd gathered near Towers Hall in the campus of Loughborough University, Kath is holding her son’s graduation gown.
Now wearing his gown Peter walks past crowds of family and friends looking for someone, he returns with a friend also in his graduation gown and they both make their way into a building for their graduation ceremony.
Following the ceremony Peter stands beside his mother, his friend and another man chatting. With the exception of Kath, they each hold certificates in their hands. Peter and Kath stand chatting with Professor Brittain, behind them an orange tent and a banner across the top that reads ‘The Guild of Loughborough University’.
Peter and Kath walk away heading inside Towers Hall where a reception is taking place in the Refectory.
Still in his gown Peter chats with three friends in a car park, Kath stands nearby. Now standing beside a car Peter holds up his graduation certificate with his friends giving the thumbs up. The film ends on one of them grabbing Peter's chin.
