A home movie produced by Ken Ellwood of a family holiday to St Anne’s on the Sea in Lancashire featuring his wife Kath and two younger sons John and Peter. They are filmed playing with model boats on a boating lake, coming downs slides at a swimming pool and visiting nearby Blackpool Pleasure Beach where he and wife Kath join their children on various rides. Kath, John, and Peter Ellwood come out of the Chadwick Hotel at St-Anne’s-by-the-Sea. John carrying a model boat and Peter carrying a football walk around a decorative pond arriving at a concrete boating pond on which the boys play with their model boats. In his swimming trunks John comes down a slide into a swimming pool, Peter attempts to climb up the slide. John comes down a second much higher slide splashing into the water. Peter comes down the smaller slide backwards. The two boys get into a small motorboat of a boating lake. From another boat on the water Peter is at the controls of his vessel with his mother sitting beside him and a second woman sitting in the back. A monorail travelling around Blackpool Pleasure Beach changes to the Ellwood’s making their way to the pleasure beaches entrance. A tram decorated like a ship passes along the promenade, a horse-and-carriage travel in the opposite direction. Inside the Pleasure Beach John slips as he gets off an escalator. He stands on his tiptoes beside a hight restriction sign for a ride, he isn’t quite tall enough. Kath, John, and Peter wave as they ride past on a log flume eventually coming down a steep drop with a splash with John’s arms waving in the air. Next, the two boys ride with their father in a go-kart around a circuit. On their own they boy sit in another car this time attached to a rail riding around a circuit. The monorail passes sedately changing to the cars in the ‘Big Dipper’ roller-coaster passing at speed with Kath, John and Peter sitting in the front carriage. They all wave as they pass. The film ends on Peter riding in a circle on another ride.
