Title - A current topic.
The film opens with a shot of a fence where a sign reads 'Festival of kites'. In a park, a man wearing a dark wool jumper tugs on the string of a kite that flies overhead. Another man then stands in the field flying a box kite. There are then shots of kites of different styles and designs resting on the grass. A wide shot of the field shows several people all flying kites. A display kite with several tiers then swoops through the air in front of a small group of people. The next shot shows a kite that is designed using flags of different nationalities.
The following sequence shows kite fliers wrestling with the wind, and shots of the crowd watching and eating ice creams. Following this, the filmmaker captures different kites with spectacular designs that drift and swoop through the air. The filmmaker then shows some of the kite enthusiasts; a young child and a man in a wool sweater watch a kite above, and another group of people are making homemade kites on the grass. The final few shots show more people flying various kites.
Title - The end.
Title - A Champion Do 6th July, 1990.
The following film begins with a sign stuck into some grass, which reads, 'Hot air airship World Championships. 2-8th of August Clumber park'. The filmmaker then captures various trucks and vehicles driving into the park, and unloading the frames that make up a hot air airship, and there are several shots of the fans the propel them. A trailer is then pulled through the field and has 'Mercedes Benz' written on the side, before a sequence shows people working on the frames, and there are teams which include 'Agfa' and 'Kodak'.
The next sequence is very dark and only the faint outlines of the airships being inflated can be made out. A man stands with his back to the camera and the words 'Applied Archaic Technologies' are printed on the back of his overalls. A flame is ignited in an airship, and there is a brief glimpse of an already airborne airship. A bright orange airship then begins its ascent with the pilot using the flame to gain altitude.
The airships are then airborne, and there are several shots of them floating through the air, and some of the teams include, 'Kodak', and one for the 'Balloon Museum. Next, a balloon in the distance can be seen flying near to a church steeple, before a balloon comes into land and people crowd around beneath it; heaving the ropes to assist in the landing. The final sequence shows various balloons flying low over a lake, and the final shot shows a balloon having a bumpy touchdown.
Title - The end.
