In a studio a two student presenters Claire Dudgel(?) and Craig Knowles prepare themselves for broadcast. The lights go down, there is a ten-second countdown and light go up to start this edition of ‘University News’. The first report with Craig looks at student safety following several students being attacked in the past three months in the Linthorpe Road area of Middlesbrough.
Outside the Students' Union on Southfield Road male and female students are asked about safety concerns, many of them feel unsafe. Interview with the Student’s Union Education and Welfare Officer Jo Geary about what they can do to protect themselves such as walking around in groups and making themselves less of a target.
Back to the studio where Claire introduces the next item, a mock report on an Economics student John Dibble who has lost his lucky 1p piece and has given up his course because of it. Reporter Andy Farrow to camera outside John’s residence of King Edward’s Square and interview with the distraught student inside. Have you seen his lucky penny?
Back to the studio both Claire and Craig bring the programme to an end.
