Another student enters dressed as a schoolboy; they introduce the first item by the teacher asked the boy if he has problems getting to school. He says no, looking at camera, because he lives in Middlesbrough!
A female student to camera on Southfield Road in Middlesbrough talking about the beauty-spots and not-so-beauty spots of the town. A map of Middlesbrough changes to a pedestrian signpost outside Middlesbrough Town Hall on Corporation Road. Outside British Home Stores a bagpiper entertains the passing shoppers walking along Linthorpe Road.
Benches and flowerbeds in Victoria Square across from the Town Hall, nearby the central library, Dunning Street police station and Teesside Magistrates Court. Outside the court the statue of local industrialist John Vaughan. Nearby a small artificial lake, beside it the sculpture ‘Bottle of Notes’.
Inside Albert Park a family feed bread to the ducks on the pond. Grey squirrels race up nearby trees while ducks and other birds fly onto the pond. Outside the Cleveland Centre shopping mall on Linthorpe Road a salesman shows off an electric razor to a group of men standing around him. The entrance of Middlesbrough Tower, part of the University of Teesside campus, with students and staff coming and going. Back with the reporter leaning against a wall who ends her report.
The next item is introduced by the teacher and schoolboy.
Title: Don’t forget about me. Pop video
A student made music video to the song by Simple Minds featuring a band performing intercut with a story about a students unrequited love partly filmed inside Albert Park.
Following the teacher and schoolboy again a report on an exhibition of the works of David Mabbs entitled ‘Skins’ taking place at the Cleveland Gallery in Middlesbrough. Various pieces of art hanging on the gallery walls, around many of them primary school children sitting on the floor drawing their own works of art watched over by a teacher. Standing against a wall the children hold up their pieces to the camera.
Back with the teacher and schoolboy who discuss an area the boy excels in, sport. Over a narration on the importance of sport for a healthy lifestyle, activities taking place inside Albert Park including older people playing bowls, two people playing tennis on a court and a jogger running around the park circuit. Inside the University of Teesside gym students use weights and exercise equipment while back in Albert Park a loner angler fishing on the pond. Believed a mock interview with a man called Clive Parker who has recently signed for Manchester United. He talks about the importance of sport and his love of football.
In the next item a young woman goes for a makeover at Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy on Baker Street in Middlesbrough. She goes inside where the beautician gives her a manicure painting her nails bright red before giving her a facial and plucking her eyebrows. The treatment over the woman leaves, she does a joyous skip as she leaves.
Next a report on the work of the RSPCA Great Ayton Animal Centre showing puppies, cats and pigeons in cages around the centre. The report provides some statistics with regards the work of the RSPCA and advises that many of the animals featured are for sale.
The programme ends back on the office set and the teacher telling the boy to work harder. Finally, a weather report for the United Kingdom using a weather map Middlesbrough at the centre, with the presenter placing various weather symbols onto the map.
