Blossom grows on a tree planted in front of Middlesbrough Tower followed by a classroom of students leaving a lecture theatre.
In another lecture theatre a woman introduces an induction to the ‘Work Based Live Project’. In an office she explains what a ‘Live Project’ is describing it as ‘a piece of work done by a student in real world conditions’. Back in the lecture theatre the students listen intently. Students from around the world are identified in the induction class, the woman continues to describe what a good ‘live project’ is.
Australian student Paul Rider walks into Abbey Hill School at Stockton-on-Tees and speaks with the receptionist. Interview with presumably the schools head teacher about the range of pupils at this Special Educational Needs school and the benefits they have had from being part of this project.
Back in her office the woman talks about what makes a good host organisation, the best are those who have an understanding of the learning experience. In another office Paul Rider sits speaking with a tutor about his interview at Abbey Hill School.
In another lecture theatre the woman speaks with the students about their live projects and assessment procedures. She wishes them luck and they begin to leave.
Interview with two foreign students about the challenges of taking part in the project, especially with regards speaking a foreign language. They talk about their placement in Hartlepool and the computer system they will be designing.
The film ends as it began with a computer animation of a face.
