Travelling by coach they arrive at the theme park to release balloons before enjoying a picnic lunch. Children get onto one of two Compass Royston coaches parked on Roman Road.

The two coaches pull away and the man in mayoral chains waves at those onboard. They pass through an intersection where a policeman stands signalling to them to move on.
The two coaches plus a third smaller red minivan travel south along the A19, a car passes with balloons hanging out of the window. On board one of the coaches passengers sit chatting or looking out of the window. Some of the children are interviewed about which rides they are going to go on at Lightwater Valley or which are their favourite.
The two coaches pull into a car park with some of those onboard waving at the camera. Everyone gets off the buses congregating on a grassy verge beside a hedge where orange balloons are handed out. Some of the children tie notes to ribbons that are attached to the balloons. In a field several children run around playing with their balloons. There is a countdown, and everyone releases their balloons which fly away into the sky.
A line forms along a series of tables on which sandwiches, sausage rolls and other foods are being served. Everyone takes a selection and sit in groups enjoying their picnic. A girl tries to feed a chicken with a piece of her sandwich, another tries to give some of her food to a duck without success.
The camera follows a duck along the platform of a miniature railway platform from a train travelling around the Lightwater Valley site passing through a tunnel and around a boating lake.
On a tarmacked circuit children get on and ride skate karts, they pass the camera at speed with one girl falling off. On another ride a man and boy come down Splash Falls, other follow including the camera.
A sign above an entranceway reads ‘Devils Cascade Entrance Only', in the background a man-made waterfall. Through an entranceway a larger water chute which soaks its passengers as it hits the water.
Older children and some of the adult’s speed past around a track on motorised go-karts changes to passengers riding the Ladybird roller-coaster. A montage of both the children and adults enjoying some of the other rides at the park including a graviton ride and a carousel.
From a carriage the slow assent to the top of The Ultimate roller coaster. The camera shakes and people scream as it drops down the other side and speeds around the track. The carriage moves slowly along a section of track hight in the air before dropping down a steep incline much to the enjoyment of the passengers. The carriage pulls into the station at the end of the ride where a line of people waits to get on. Writing on the back of t-shirt being worn by one of the children reads ‘Youth Action Middlesbrough’.
Outside a shop children look over the various sweets they’ve bought, other sits on benches eating ice-lollies. A boy in a wheelchair is asked what rides he has been on, and he’s been on a lot. Other children are asked similar questions. Four of the adults who are supervising are asked about the success of today and if they will be doing it again next year.
A group of older men stand around chatting as the group gather in readiness to depart. They make their way back towards the coaches passing flags on poles flapping in the wind. The disabled children are helped onto the smaller red bus seen previously. On board one of the coaches the children look through their purchases carried in ‘Lightwater Valley’ carrier bags. Many eat their sweets as the coach’s head for home. A girl is asked about the day and her favourite rides, a woman holds up a picture take of her on the roller coaster, she explains why she enjoys it so much.
Back outside Kirby College passenger disembark from the coaches on Roman Road, in the college car park two boys begin to eat some of their sweets in their carrier bags.
