Inside a computer laboratory the chips are tested by Gillian Ogden, she talks about how the equipment in the lab has been helpful. Inside the Heavy Structures Laboratory a reinforced glass walkway is being installed in readiness for testing. In another part of the school a computer aided turning centre and milling machine in operation working to a design on a monitor. In a darkened laboratory a camera captures microscopic images on a screen. In another laboratory John Coulthard, Senior Lecturer in Instrumental and Control Engineers talks about how the University of Teesside is a world leader in measuring pulverised fuel passing along pipeline into a furnace. A Chinese graduate student sits at a computer looking at said measurements. In the Chemistry and Biotechnology Division a female student works with chemicals at protected workstation.
