A home movie produced by Arnold Corbett of a trip to Burnhope Reservoir near Wearhead in County Durham featuring his two daughters Audrey and Margaret along with their friends. In the final part of the film Margaret also featured alongside three teenage girls who are giving each other piggybacks across a piece of moorland.
Water lapping against the stone embankment of Burnhope Reservoir followed by views around the dam itself. Three small girls and a boy walk up and down a stone wall, part of the reservoir. One of the girls jumps down and picks up a dog which she hands to one of the other children. She is helped back onto the wall by an older girl.
A car is parked beside a building on the dam, a roadway run across it with water on one side and fields on the other. In the near distance the water works and the Burnhope Burn. Beside the embankment fields and a factory.
A teenage girl attempts to climb onto the back of another, they both appear to be wearing a school uniform. Standing next to them a third teenage girl with a younger girl on her back. With the girl now onboard the four of them race across moorland towards a track or road laughing and smiling. One pair fall over, the other cross the road before collapsing in the heather.
