An amateur film made by Arnold Corbett recording two wedding believed taking place in or around the market town of Stanhope in Weardale, County Durham. The groom in the first film is believed to be Ernest Pierce and the bride in the second his sister Eleanor, the Pierce’s being a prominent family in the area.

A bridesmaid in a yellow dress and carrying a yellow bouquet walks along a track away from a house in the background. Behind her other wedding guest follow passing a bank of cleared snow along the side of the road.
A car with bow attached to the front come along the road followed by a bride stepping out of the vehicle carrying a bouquet of red flowers and joins arms with her waiting father.
In the doorway of the church the bride stands with her new husband smiling at the camera. They walk through the churchyard followed by the bridesmaid seen previously and the best man. Boxes of confetti are thrown on the couple by family and friends. A small boy comes over and poses alongside the bride, more confetti is thrown. On the road outside the church the couple speak with an older man, behind them a crowd of spectators watch the day's events.

Outside a church a man opens a car door and a woman in a white dress with a red hat steps out. She is given a bouquet before heading inside. A second car pulls up and the bride and her father step out before walking into the church.
Following the service, the married couple pose in the entranceway of the church. A young girl in green comes forward and give the bride a lucky horseshoe. The wedding party poses for more pictures in the church entranceway. Once again, as the couple leave and get into the wedding car they are showered in confetti. Guests continues to come out of the church and gather in the yard watching the couple get into their car.
Three women, one pushing a pushchair walk along a county road, one of the women waves. Along Market Place in the village of St John’s Chapel cars parked outside a number of premises, in the near distance the war memorial and St John the Baptist Church.
