This is followed by motorbike riders waiting to start the 1956 Travers Trophy One Day National Reliability Trial from the village of St John’s Chapel also in County Durham and them completing part of the course through a craggy ravine. Following the service, the bride standing with her new husband in the doorway of the church accepting gifts and well wishes from family and friends. They pose together on the church steps, nearby in the doorway of the church the bridesmaids watch on. Other members of the wedding party join the couple on the steps for more pictures watched by a large crowd of well-wishers. The bride stands alone smiling. As the couple make their way out of the church towards the road guests throw confetti onto them. An A.C.U. Permit with writing on it that reads; ‘Travers Trophy One Day National Reliability Trial. Jackson On Market Place in the village of St John’s Chapel a young man on a motorcycle pulls away from several other riders and spectators. Two men sit at a small trestle table set up in the road surrounded by spectators, next to them several riders on their motorcycles waiting for permission to start. Sitting on the bonnet of a car the Travers Trophy returning to the riders waiting to depart. Another young ride pushes his bike into position, around him other riders waiting for the off. The young man rides off, an older man comes over and speaks with another rider. A third speaks with the two men sitting at the trestle table. An older man holds the Travers Trophy up for the camera, nearby riders continue to wait for the off. A man on a motorcycle carefully rides through a rocky ravine trying not to fall off, standing nearby spectators watching as he passes. He attempts to ride his bike up a steep muddy bank passing signs that reads ‘Observed Section Ends’, his rear wheel gets stuck. A second rider comes along the ravine but gets stuck, someone catches his bike before he falls off. He gets underway again. A third rider navigates the ravine without falling off. The film ends after several other riders pass through the ravine and attempt to ride up the muddy bank.
