Title: Our Visit Abroad Commercial shot of an aircraft landing at an airport changing to a sunny beach where the filmmaker’s wife Evelyne and daughter Karen splash about in the sea. Evelyne helps her daughter learn to swim by holding her head above the water. Traffic and pedestrians passing along a promenade including a horse-and-buggy changes to Evelyne and Karen sitting in the shade on a veranda. From the street the name written on the awning the two are sitting under reads ‘Hotel Arcadia’. A phantom horse-and-buggy ride along a promenade passing a sunny beach with lots of holidaymakers. Karen and Evelyne climb off and walk along the promenade crossing a busy road where Karen loses her hat. People are sitting in a café. Evelyne and Karen walk into the Hotel Arcadia. Views of various streets with horse-and-wagon riding past, on the beach Evelyne and Karen playing with an inflatable Lilo before the family peddle out into the surf on a peddle-boat. A phantom bus ride into Palma passing the Catedrol-Basilica de Santa Maria de Mallorca. At a restaurant or café holidaymakers sit at outdoor tables. From a boat on the water views of the island and surrounding mountains and a flying boat taking off in the near distance. On a beach Evelyne stands under a tree, around her people walking or relaxing on the sand beside the water. Karen sits on a viewing platform that looks out across the rocky landscape around her. A bus parked outside a café or restaurant changes to men and women relaxing on a beach. A ‘Mr Whippy’ ice cream van drives past and Karen takes one over to her mother. Karen swims in the sea, around her people some on a pedal-boats. Back at the hotel Karen steps into the pool where her father is already swimming. People dive into the water from a board. Edwin helps his daughter into the pool, and they hold hands while crossing it. Four waiters from the Hotel Arcadia come out front to pose alongside Karen and another girl. At Majorca Airport passengers walk across the tarmac to their waiting aircraft climbing onboard. The aircraft taxis and takes off and the film ends on views of the sunset. End title: The end
