The second of six television news reports on the journey of the schooner Unda von Kappeln from Blyth in Northumberland to Florida in the United States of America. In this film the ship travels south toward Portugal with one of the crew on deck using a sextant to chart a course while another working on the upkeep of the boat. Views of a small port and town possibly Portugal. The Unda von Kappeln at sea, and Simon Isherwood using a sextant. Nearby, another member of the crew paints a section of the boat while Simon uses the sextant reading to mark a map. Back on deck it is getting dark, a man pulls on a rope to put up or take down a sail. The Unda von Kappeln is now docked along a quayside in a Portuguese port, nearby another vessel the Temerario. The anchor is dropped into the water changing to a beach where a number of local men and women work together to a fishing net. The film ends on a narrow street of tall houses on both sides.
