Summary The first episode of a fourth season of the Tyne Tees Television rural life programme Up Country presented by Jessica Holm. In the first report Ornithologist Chris Spray conducts a study into Mute swans by using airplanes to track the birds on the region's rivers and ponds. At Berwick-upon-Tweed he works with volunteers to conduct scientific experiences on flocks of swans to find out where the birds have come from. Following the break, a vet from Redcar in the Tees Valley who have become an expert in the treatment of hedgehogs and who works with a dedicated group of volunteers who help to nurse the creatures back to health. Finally, Jessica travels to Weardale to learn more about and to ride a Fell or Dales Pony at the Alston Moor and Kilhope Riding Centre. |
