Summary An edition of the Tyne Tees Television rural life programme Up Country presented by Jessica Holm. In the first report a trip to the Kielder Forest in Northumberland to see the work being done by 'Red Alert' to carry out research into the protection of Red squirrel followed by William Moult taking up the new craze of bungie-jumping at an event taking place in the Lake District. After the break Jessica joins Marine Biologist Gavin Hardy as he explores the rockpools of the Northumberland coastline near Alnmouth to find samples of seaweeds that were collected and preserved in a book more than a century ago. In the final report water diviner or dowser Edwin Taylor travels to Beamish Museum in County Durham to help them locate the original well on the site of Pockerley farm. |
