Following an introduction by Eric Robson, the first report comes from Leeming Bar in North Yorkshire where there are concerns about the effect on livestock from the noise made by F3 Tornado jets flying overhead from the recently expanded RAF Leeming. Interview with farmer Jeff Wilkinson from Holmfield Farm about the death of a calf caused in part by the noise and the subsequent problems getting compensation. Includes interviews with Group Captain John Rooum from RAF Leeming and Bill Crystal from the National Farmers Union.
The second item concerns with regards egg production and recent Department of Health warnings about Salmonella. Inside a shed on an egg farm a discussion with Norman Atkinson a Gateshead egg producers, Doug McCutcheon of Gateshead egg producers McCutcheon Eggs and Ernie Johnson from Gateshead Council Environmental Health. Norman and Doug think the fears are overblown in comparison to the number of eggs produced each year. Advise is given to viewers about raw and undercooked eggs.

The second part of the programme begins with an interview inside a water treatment plant with Karen McVeigh of Friends of the Earth and Windsor Griffiths from the British Agrochemicals Association. Friends of the Earth have released a report on agricultural pollution in drinking water. Karen says there is a lack of reliable information on the effects of pesticides in water and their long-term effects. Windsor says that the levels detected are far below what constitute a health risk. Karen believes that older pesticides should be taken off the market pending proper testing, while Windsor points out that many foods contain carcinogenic.
The final report in this programme comes from a farm near Driffield, Humberside which has diversified into production of Japanese quail for eggs and meat. Interview with farmer James Hooper of 'Yorvik Quail' which now has 250 laying birds producing 100 dozen eggs a week. They have five different breeds, pure breed for eggs and the other for meat which he sells to local wholesalers as well as restaurants and hotels.
