This is a film of Kathleen Cole and her family on holiday in Devon and Cornwall which was made by Kathleen's father.
The film opens with Kathleen's father coming out of a house, quickly followed by the sing at 'Bude' train station, and road signs for Widemouth and Camelford. The south coast is seen from a moving train, and then Kathleen and her mother make their way from a holiday chalet and get into a car, before Kathleen's father comes running out to join them. Next Kathleen is on the beach playing ball with a dog and some friends, before being joined by other family members. Kathleen and her husband come out of the sea where they have been surfing. Next they are all sitting on the veranda of the holiday chalet having a drink.
Next a sign for 'Port Isaac' is followed by a man painting a scene from the Port. Kathleen and her mother are on a boat in the harbour with the tide out. Kathleen dives to join many others swimming in the sea, whilst family/friends sit on the overlooking rocks. Still sitting on the rocks, they tuck into sandwiches. More of Kathleen and others surfing, whilst other people in the holiday party sit on the beach watching. Kathleen and a younger boy are stood on a large rock on a beach, and then they clamber down. Then they are grouped around a sign for Tintangel Castle, before they climb down the steps that lead to the Castle. From the top of the Castle, the Castle and the surrounding area are shown. Kathleen is looking down a sheer cliff face. Then the town near Tintagel is shown.
The film then moves to Clovelly, where the holiday group make their way up the top of the steep street. After this they are grouped around a large cross on a cliff top overlooking the sea. Then the sea is seen, firstly across a field with sheep, then from a beach. Here, Kathleen and her (future?) husband are paddling in the sea, and then go surfing. The film then switches to Kathleen sitting overlooking a harbour. Then they are at Land's End, with views of the coast and Kathleen's mother sat on the rocks holding up a ball, as the film comes to an end.
