In the garden of the family home at Shaftsbury Crescent in Cullercoats the filmmakers two sons Martin and Paul work to weed a flowerbed and sort seeds for their mother and, presumably, grandmother. The two boys ride up and down Shaftsbury Crescent on their tricycles with Martin, the older brother, late on riding a bicycle. The final part of the film takes place at Blyth Harbour with sailing dinghy's being pushed into the water and men and boys sailing on the water. The film ends on a cargo ship entering the harbour. |

A stencilled poster reads 'Canberra Light Bomber' changes to visitors on an airfield looking over said aircraft parked there. In the sky a jet aircraft spins as part of a display. Visitors look over various other military aircraft around the airfield including a Gloster Javelin A.W. Fighter while in the sky different types of airplanes fly overhead performing for the crowds. Some are flying in formations, others come into land.
A crowd watches as a jet aircraft takes off along the runway, a man with a small boy on his shoulders looks over a World War Two fighter aircraft; writing along the fuselage reads 'Aeroplane & Armament Experimental Establishment Boscombe Down'. The crowds continue to enjoy looking over the aircraft on display including a US Air Force fighter which taxis along the runway. In the sky jets fly past in a formation.
In a garden two small boys pick weeds from a flowerbed with a fork and trowel. One of the boys works in a potting shed, two women come over with one handing him a packet of seeds. The young boy appears from the shed and hands a metal object to one of the women. The boys look over packets of seeds, one of which goes into a handbag held by one of the women. The other woman passes out coins from her purse to the boys.
The two women come along an alleyway between two houses, the smaller boy walking in front of them carrying a dustbin lid like a shield. On Shaftsbury Crescent the two boys ride at the camera on their tricycles and along the pavement. A woman picks up one of the boys holding him in the air beside two deckchairs and an open garage door. One of the boys and a girl places several small blanks on a man lying in the doorway of a house, he pretends to be asleep.
The boys, now possibly in school uniforms run down Shaftsbury Crescent followed by one of them coming out of a garage riding a bicycle. He rides down the street while his younger brother rides his tricycle.
At Blyth Harbour two men and two older boys in sailor outfits help to push a sailing dinghy down a jetty into the water. The two men sail out and around the harbour, on the far side a cargo ship moored along a quayside. A small trimaran is pushed into the water, a group of young boys watching on. Two boys sail it out and around the harbour, one of the boys falling into the water as he attempts to adjust the sail.
A number of small sailing dinghy sail around a series of buoy at speed. One of the vessels has capsized, the two boys sitting on the side of the dinghy. A cargo ship slowly sails into Blyth harbour passing a man fishing from the quay.
