The film opens with footage taken from inside the bus as it pulls into the Brownies' HQ in Heworth. The girls and their families are there waiting for the coach. This film documents the York Heworth Brownies' annual trip to the village of Burnsall, just north of the city.
Title - 30th Heworth Brownies Pack Holiday 1981
The film opens with footage taken from inside the bus as it pulls into the Brownies' HQ in Heworth. The girls and their families are there waiting for the coach. The troop leaders take role and collect permission slips and the girls load their gear onto the bus. Families outside the coach wait for the coach to leave, and there is one girl who is late. She runs across the road with her mother. She just makes it and gets on the coach which then pulls away as families wave them off.

The camera zooms in to show the village from a distance. The small village is nestled in the countryside.

The Brown Owl and her chaperones help the Brownies one by one off the coach. They then form a human chain and pass the provisions for the holiday along a line into the hall where they are staying. Once unpacked, the girls leave the hall and make their way out into the countryside. They stop and have lunch outside, and after, take a walk along the river.

Colourful tents and a marquee have been set up on green by the river, and the Brownies make their way to the event.

One man has a stall that is dedicated to showing rare birds such as a Goshawk and Peregrine Falcon, a large crowd have gathered to look at the birds as he talks to the people.
The annual Burnsall race sets off from the village into the countryside. Male runners go through the village and off onto a grass track. The course is lined with supporters. The Brownies have a race of their own on the green. The other runners return, each sprinting past the finish line. The Brownies sit nearby and have a picnic.
After the day's events, dinner is severed back at the hall. After the meal the tables are cleared and then bowls of water are brought out so that the girls can wash up their plates. They then go to bed.
Title - Burnsall Tuesday
The girls get up for breakfast, and after the meal, wash up and clear away their things. The day begins, and they head outside, going to the village shop to buy some extra provisions that are returned to the hall. They then proceed to play various games on the grass outside.
The group then goes to the bus stop to catch a bus for their trip to Grassington.

Once there, they wander around the shops and buy some food.

Next stop is Linton Falls where they have the chance to picnic and explore the area.

The girls return to the hall. Siting on the stone wall outside the hall, the girls have clean the mud from their shoes.
Title - Back home to Mum and Dad
The trip is over, and the girls return to York. The bus arrives back in Heworth where the girls are all greeted by their parents.
