The White Line Celebration took place on Sunday, 21 August, 2022 at St George’s Square in Huddersfield to mark the 75th anniversary of India and Pakistan’s independence. The following film, produced by Let's Go Yorkshire, was made to document the events which took place at the anniversary celebrations.

Title – Balle Balle Sangeet singing Boliyan: traditional Panjabi folk song
Women sing traditional folk songs in front of an audience. They speak to the filmmaker about the importance of keeping the traditions alive and what it means to them. The audience is diverse made up of people of different generations and ethnicities.
Younger woman speaks about how she was not taught about the history of Partition so had to learn about the history from older generations. These celebrations offer an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to come and learn about the history, not just members of the South Asian community.
Screening of A New Life in Huddersfield Memories of Partition. People sit in deck chairs at the outdoor screening.
Title – Chol Theatre Performance “Three Pounds in my Pocket” play
Shots of women dressed in saris. They wave colourful cloths around as part of their performance. A crowd can be seen watching them. A man speaks about what it’s like to immigrate to Huddersfield.
Title – Hardeep Singh Sahota performing Bhangra: a traditional Panjabi folk dance.
The dancer speaks of the origins of the dance, something which originated pre-Partition in India. He is dressed in colourful costume, and members of the audience dance along with him.
The film ends with shots of the crowds attending the day’s celebrations.
