The film opens with the entrance to the Merchant Adventurers Hall in York. The entrance is through an alleyway on Fossgate. The exterior of the hall can be seen, footage taken from Piccadilly Street. Attendees make their way into All Saints church on Pavement Street. The priest stands at the door to welcome them. Brief footage from inside the church.
The procession begins down Piccadilly Street. Those in the front of the procession are dressed in ceremonial robes, the rest in smart winter clothing. They enter All Saints Church and file into the pews. Organ music plays as they do, and the religious officials make their way to the alter.
