Footage of the steam locomotive ‘Nellie’ leaving Esholt Sewage Works Railway via road on the back of a James Watkinson Ltd. haulage vehicle, and arriving at Embasy Steam Centre in 1970. Titles: City of Bradford Water Pollution Control Department Prince of Wales (nameplate of a diesel Hunslet shunting locomotive.) People can be seen smartly dressed gathered around the tracks near the diesel locomotive. A bottle of champagne is smashed open in celebration, and a photographer takes a photograph of a group of people stood by the locomotive. The engine is then seen moving along the track. A small industrial steam locomotive (‘Nellie’) exits the engine shed – the name can clearly be seen painted on the side. It moves along the track. People stand by the track taking photographs. A group of people in the cab of Nellie can be seen looking ahead as the locomotive moves backwards along the track. Lots of steam surrounds the engine as it continues its route, as onlookers can be seen watching at the side of the track. A man in the cab of Nellie smiles at the camera. A speech is given by some smartly dressed individuals and a wreath is placed on the front of the locomotive. A crane can be seen moving track. Nellie is shown on the back of a green James Watkinson Ltd. haulage vehicle, being transported by road. ‘I’m Nellie folks’ sign hands from Nellie’s cab; a worker can be seen inside the cab behind the sign. A man runs across the back of the moving haulage vehicle to join his co-worker in the locomotive cab. There are then shots of Nellie travelling by road as the railway workers wave to car drivers and pedestrians from Nellie’s cab. A sign on the side of Nellie reads ‘Locomotive Nellie en route Esholt to Embsay Steam Centre’. Pedestrians look as the vehicle passes over a crossroads. Cars and vans driving behind the vehicle can be seen travelling slowly on the winding roads to Nellie’s destination. There is now a shot of Nellie safely on the tracks in steam again, this time at Embsay Steam Centre. Onlookers staring at the camera from a distance are seen stood inside and around the signal box nearby.
