The film begins with him preparing to go fishing followed by slow-motion footage of him casting his line into the water. Eventually a fish is caught and after being killed its weight and details are recorded on a card. Title: Looking down stream from the cottage The river Dee passing through a woodland landscape. Title: Some views of the lower water and luncheon hut A path along the riverbank, a top an embankment a hut. Title: Long pool and the Glisterhom(?) below The river flowing downstream, a sandbank on the far shore and the pathway seen previously on this side of the river. Title: Greasing the line before starting A man stands beside a path or track holding out a fishing rod. A second man comes towards the first rubbing or greasing the fishing line which appears to be attached to a fence or gate a little distance away. He turns and walks back to his starting point. Title: The gauge or Deeometer A metal devise has been placed in the water, along one edge measuring points. Title Eahwood(?) fishing in slow motion Filmed in slow-motion a man stands on a small spit on the edge of the Dee casting his line into the water. The: The Luis(?) joing(?) out The slow-motion captures the line flicking off the surface of the water. The man on the spit casts into the water again, still in slow-motion. Now standing on a rock he continues to cast his rod filmed in slow-motion, a woman in a hat stands beside him watching. Title The rise [two arrows are drawn pointing towards a question mark] The confluence of water in the river Title: “Hooking”. Watch the point of the rod The man once again casts his line into the river, he catches a bite and turns the rod towards the shore. Title: Playing and Gaffing He continues to pull the rod along the riverbank, the fish still attached. Two other men join him, one taking photographs of the scene while the other uses a hooked stick to capture the fish now near the shore lifting it from the water. He takes the fish up an embankment, the fisherman hits it on its head to kill it. Title: Taking out the fly One of the men unhooks the fly from the fish’s mouth. Title: Weighing and entering detail of card One of the men lifts the fish on a set of scales, the fisherman writes the weight on a small card which is shown giving details of where, when and what time the fish was caught as well as its weight. The film ends on a cartoon image of a fish being served on a large platter by cherubs.
