The lights come up on stage where the chorus perform the first of many song and dance routine around a maypole, one of the dancers is Rowland Maughan as ‘Simple Simon’. The song over he and ‘Dame Durden’ come forward to address the audience and as if they are happy. The production continues with Roland being joined by his comedy partner Len Hayden for the first several routines during the performance; this one featuring ‘Daisy the Cow’ and them singing along with the audience ‘Is Everybody Happy’.
Part way through the second part the production the performance comes to a stop as Rowland Maughan and Len Hayden come on stage to read out some messages to some of those in the audience. They leave the stage and the performance resumes for the final sequence featuring a dancing cow.
The production ends and Rowland Maughan and Len Hayden comes back onto the stage again to acknowledge some of the parties and groups in that night. A number of children come up onto the stage to sing a song along with Rowland a version of ‘The Merry Month of May’. Members of the children’s chorus come out onto the stage carrying placards which the hold up at the points in the song when the audience need to sing along. The children who came up on stage are interviewed by Rowland and Len about what they got for Christmas. The children leave the stage with bags of goodies and Rowland and Len finish the song before leaving the stage.
The curtain is raised once more for a final dance number after which the full cast come out to take a bow to the audience. Rowland Maughan steps forward to thank some of the cast and those behind the scenes, bouquets are presented. The societies Chairman Raymond Hammond comes onto the stage to present a gift to Rowland for his efforts. Everyone on stage give a final wave to the audience before singing the National Anthem. The curtain comes down and the audience begin to leave the auditorium.
