The curtain opens again for a chorus to begin performing their first routine. The performance continues with a comedy sequence featuring Len Hayden and Rowland Maughan as the inept ‘Broken Men’. More song, dance and comedy routines throughout the production as well as Rowland Maughan leading some of the younger members of the the audience in a rendition of ‘Away in a Manager’.
The production comes to an end and Rowland Maughan and the actor playing ‘Buttons’ presenting birthday bouquets to two women in the audience. ‘Buttons’ leaves and Len Hayden comes on stage carrying a stage prop of a grand-father clock. Both men read out birthday greetings and acknowledgments before beginning to sing ‘My Grandfather’s Clock’. They invite seven children onto the stage to join in. At the end of the song, they all leave the stage.
The curtain is raised once more for a final dance number after which the full cast come out to take a bow to the audience. The wave to the applauding audience as the curtain comes down. It goes up again as Ernie Scorer comes out onto the stage to address the audience about this year’s production. Rowland Maughan then comes forward to thank some of those behind the scenes as well as some of the cast, a bouquet are presented. The cast sing the National Anthem as the curtain closes and people begin to leave the theatre.
