At the top of the 199-steps in Whitby stands a troop of Cub Scouts. Nearby another crowd, some waving Union Jacks, stand along the path leading to the Church of St Mary. Prince Charles walks along the path into the church where a member of the church in full vestments is waiting for him.
The clock on the tower of the Church of St Mary reads 12pm after which Prince Charles, accompanied by the Mayor of Whitby, making his way down the 199-steps past a troop of Brownies. As he makes his way towards Church Lane residents wave Union Jacks from the windows of their houses. He stops and chats with a Girl Guide near the bottom of the steps.
Large crowds gather along the pavement of Church Street, some waving Union Jacks from windows. Bunting hangs across the street as Prince Charles walks underneath. A woman jumps from the crowd and kisses the Prince on the cheek, another woman tries but is stopped by the Princes security.
A troop of Sea Scouts stand to attention in Whitby Market Square as Prince Charles passes. He stops and speaks with one of the boys.
A large flotilla of boats in Whitby Harbour, large crowds cross over the Swing Bridge completely filling the road.
