Christopher has written a book about some of his eccentric ancestors dating back to Sir Tatton Sykes in the 18th century. The two men explore the house and looking at old photographs uncovered by Christopher during his research.
In the grounds of Seldmere House near the village of Sledmere in East Yorkshire, ducks splash around in a pond. Views of the exterior and interior of the Georgian country house owned by the Sykes family.
Standing under the portrait of Sir Tatton Sykes is the current owner Christopher Sykes who talks with Peter Holland about a new book he has written about some of the more peculiar members of his family.
The two men wonder around the house looking in old trunks in the attic that contain photographs of his ancestors, each of whom have an interesting story. In a large living room, the two men sit on a sofa to talk about the family’s Royal connections.
Outside they walk the perimeter of the house, Christopher Sykes holding a walking stick which he uses to swipe at the flowers growing nearby.
The report ends with Peter asking Christopher if there was anything eccentric about him. In a jokey manner he raises his walking stick in the air and proceeds to chase Peter across the lawn.
